Bio

A paper route at 12 and a landscaping business at 13 – that’s how it started.

I graduated from Oregon State University with a BS in Geology and began my long-term construction career with the Corps of Engineers on a drill rig – in some pretty remote locations.  Over my 36-year career, I acquired my license as a Professional Engineering Geologist – and cross-trained through a number of increasingly higher level positions (Project Engineer, Project Manager and finally – Administrative Contracting Officer/Resident Engineer) – working on an incredible spectrum of construction venues including:

  • Heavy Civil/Geotechnical – dams, bridges, tunnels, slope stability, instrumentation, etc.
  • Environmental Restoration – Superfund and HTRW site mitigation, habitat restoration – waterways and wetlands, etc.
  • Real Estate – commercial and residential – concept designs, feasibility studies, design/build, etc.

As a Resident Engineer with a staff of 14 – Project Engineers and Field Inspectors –  I managed and administered hundreds of construction contracts for federal, state, and local municipality customers in Washington, Oregon and Idaho, retiring with over $200M in construction projects under contract.

During my career – in my “spare” time – I started and ran several successful small businesses – in addition to management and full-service maintenance of several investment properties.

In “retirement” – I’ve slowed down a little and combined my two passions – construction and imagery – into A&G Imagery – to help young startups and small businesses get traction and takeoff.

Thanks for your time…
